An interesting thing about tropical gardening is that the bugs are often more attractive than the flowers.

This little chap is about the size of a finger and spent a few days in February munching his (or maybe her) way through my Cape Honeysuckle. He has a neat little tail that sticks up at the back end (at least I assume its te back end, you can never tell with these things) and wags when you address him.

e no idea what he (she) eventually turned into, the biggest thing we have around is the proboscis moth that helps the sunbirds pollinate the hibiscusess.

Namibia's international economy was built initially on the export of unprocessed birdshit. As with their diamonds and copper they have never really managed to get the hang of adding value to this kind of raw commodity before exporting it. Namibia is just not a nation of composters
